John Mayer Hates Guitar Hero
Musician John Mayer has denounced Guitar Hero because it doesn't give you the same thrill that playing a real guitar does. Well, duh. But I took guitar lessons when I was a kid, and a) those strings hurt your fingers and b) I kind of sucked. Heck, even though I can't go past Medium, at least I feel a sense of fun and accomplishment with Guitar Hero.
"Guitar Hero was devised to bring the guitar-playing experience to the masses without them having to put anything into it," Mayer says. "And having done both, there's nothing like really playing the guitar. I mean, what would you rather drive, a Ferrari or one of those amusement park cars on a track?"
Personally, I'd rather drive the amusement park car, preferably of the bumper variety. It's just more fun, and you don't have to worry about scratching the finish. I mean, I kind of see his point, but I would think that maybe Guitar Hero has inspired some people to actually take up actual guitar. Me, I'm going to stick with the game. Like I said, it's more fun.

i never really wanted to learn to play the guitar, so guitar hero and the like, is good enough for me.
Yeah I hate John Mayer too, his voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me.
It's just a game. I doubt it was ever intended to bring a genuine "guitar-playing experience" to anyone. People serious about music will still learn a real instrument.
You know, I never had to catch falling bricks from the sky and stack them neatly in real life, but somehow I was able to enjoy Tetris and I don't think my life is any smaller because of it.

I can see his point, though. But equally, it's just a game.
Well I will say this I can't stand John Mayor and would like to run him over with a Ferrari But I will agree with him. I am terrible at guitar hero but put a real guitar in my hand and I will have 10x more fun. But it is just a game and intended to just be fun. So I do agree on that aspect.
That's enough, John Mayer!
