Last King Of Africa Coming To DS

I'm a big fan of adventure games, and while I'm still waiting for developers to realize what a perfect platform the Wii would be, with it's point-and-clickable Wiimote, there have been a few solid titles on Nintendo's portable platform, the DS. And hey, there's about to be one more. Focus Home Interactive has announced that Last King of Africa will be coming to the DS by the end of 2008. As Ann Smith, daughter of the last king of Maurania, you're on your way to visit your father's deathbed when your plane crashes and you awake with amnesia in a prince's palace to start your adventure.
Last King of Africa is actually a port of the PC adventure title Paradise, created by Benoit Sokal, who was also responsible for Syberia and Syberia 2, among other adventure titles. However, since it's going to be on the DS, it has been totally reworked to take advantage of the platform's strengths. The various puzzles will now use the stylus and microphone. The press release also says that "the story itself has undergone some refreshing changes and is now much more coherent and surprising," which concerns me just a wee bit. Still, knowing that they've eschewed the 3D action scenes from the PC version to make it a true point-and-click adventure game is heartening. So I have hope. I also have screens below!
