Man Goes On Rampage Through Tokyo's Akihabara District

akihabarastreet.jpg

Akihabara, Tokto's Mecca for gaming and gadget nerds was the scene of a deadly rampage by a 25 year old man yesterday. According to reports, the man drove a rented truck into a crowd of people before jumping out and stabbing eighteen people, killing seven and leaving the remaining eleven seriously injured. There seems to be no connection to the killings and the neighborhood in which they took place.

In recent months, crime against otaku in the Akihabara district has risen since many thugs realize that gaming nerds have a lot of money to spend. But this incident apparently had no such motivation as the suspect told police that he had come to the "Electric City" to kill people because he was tired of life and sick of everything.
