Naughty Spore Creatures Get Banned

Ever since the first time I sat down with Spore Creature Creator, I could see the potential for creating some rather, shall we say, sexually exotic creatures. I knew that the second that this program hit the masses we would be seeing tons of vagina and penis monsters and well, I was right. I started seeing the more "xxx" creatures appearing and wondered how long it would take before EA had to start monitoring and warning people for infraction, I mean this is a T rated game after all. It looks like that moment has arrived.

According to GamesRadar, Kristen Salvatore (an employee of PC Gamer) received an email from EA informing her that her account had been flagged due to inappropriate content with her creature "Boobalicious." So far this is the only warning of its kind that we know about but my guess is that EA will have to crack down pretty hard on this to stem the flow of the more unsavory creations out there.

But, is this fair? EA has given us everything we need to create pretty much anything our heart desires. I suppose it is only natural that some people would gravitate towards sexually prominent characters. What do you think? Should EA be keeping a close eye on these things or should folks be allowed to let their creature's breasts or phallus (or both!) flap in the breeze?

BUSTED! "Boobalicious" Banned!

Hmm I kinda understand where they are coming from, I'm not sure what the age is on Spore / Spore CC but lets not fan the demented noise from activists by saying that this is a sex sim, because they already did that with Mass Effect.

But then again just because a creature is shaped like boobs dosn't mean that you (conscientiously) created it that way. People could start taking things out of context. Obviously not with a creature named Boobalicious shaped like boobs.

I think it should be like other online games where they have a warning that says "The online parts of this game are not rated" or something like that.

I think it's perfectly okay to try to maintain a T-rated environment. They just need to be very cautious about how they enforce the rules, since the people who make sex-creatures are probably doing so with innocent intentions.
