Nintendo Makes Shiny New DS Lites For Japan
... Rest Of World Jealous

Oh, are you kidding me?! I finally decided the touch screen on my DS Phat was scratched enough that I could justify spending my Christmas money on a DS Lite, and I thought I had totally timed it right, because the awesome red and black version was available without having to buy a bundle. The problem is that Nintendo has this habit of constantly coming out with awesome new color schemes that I want more. So I should be grateful these plated finish silver, black and rosé DS Lites are only available in Japan, right? Because if there's no way to get my hands on them, I won't be tempted, right? Wrong. I still want. Sigh.
Of course, these special edition handhelds are only available to members of the Club Nintendo program (when do we get that in the US, by the way, big N? Huh? Huh?!) and you have to enter a promotional lottery during July and August in order to even have a chance of winning one. There are regular versions of the silver and rosé DS Lites that went on sale in Japan this week, but these are a shiny plated finish, so that's cooler. Not cool enough? Well, it's a limited edition. Nintendo says they're only making 1,000 of each. Not like I'd have a chance of winning one even if they were accepting American entries, but I'd still like the chance! So unfair!
