Video: Nintendo Sued For Commercial
Oops. Nintendo got itself sued by Morgan Creek Productions for using Hans Zimmer's creation "You're So Cool" from the Tony Scott film True Romance in a commercial for the GameCube. Turns out the complaint doesn't specify exactly where the song was used, but this video is of a commercial for Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and there it is, plain as day.
The suit was filed on June 12, but then voluntarily dismissed by the plantiff on June 18. Did Nintendo scare them off? Or pay them off? No idea. There are no details as to why Morgan Creek Productions dropped the suit in less than a week.
Good song, though.

all i have to say is GAME CUBE? these people have been living in a cave.
Oh god! I fucking hated this tune.... Sorry for the profanity, but god, I hated that theme in True Romance. When I kept hearing about this lawsuit I was thinking it was another theme, but ACK! I loved the script to True Romance and this theme just stood out really badly especially at the end of the film. ACK!
