PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.40 To Finally Bring In-Game XMB

In-game XMB (Cross Menu Bar) support has been a long running challenge for Sony. While acknowledged since launch as an eventual goal for the company, and directly addressed by Sony back in April of this year, the time is soon coming with the advance of Firmware 2.40 for the PlayStation 3.
To make the deal even sweeter, Firmware 2.40 will see Sony launching their "Trophy" program. Although they have yet to describe specifically how the trophy system will operate, it can be easily assumed that this will function in parallel to Microsoft's highly addictive achievements system.
Unfortunately, PS3 owners will have to wait for Firmware 2.36 (increases stability with original PlayStation titles, *yawn*) to launch before counting down for Firmware 2.40.
The anticipation is pretty unnerving, isn't it?

It'd be nice if we could get trophies for games we've already played. Granted, I've only played one game on my PS3, but my save file is there and it would be nice to get something for it.
