Rumorama: E3 Leaks Ahoy!
Wow, you go to sleep for a few hours and the entire game news internet explodes! Apparently, last night was quite the night for game news as the website for Intellisponse, a marketing and research company, was breached via a security hole allowing members of NeoGaf and Xbox 360 fanboy a chance to peek at some of Microsoft and Activision's plans for this year's E3. There were quite a few things discovered so I'm going to outline them each briefly below. Be aware though that this is all strictly rumor at this point and we will inform you of any confirmations as we hear them.
- Xbox Live Avatars: An answer to Nintendo's Miis, Microsoft is rumored to be adding fully customizeable avatars to replace the current gamerpic system. I think this begs the question though... How much are we going to have to pay for this and is every outfit change going to incur a new charge?
- Lips: The Xbox's entry into the karaoke scene will allegedly feature the ability to add any song you can rip from a cd or your ipod. The game will auto lower the vocals so you can sing your way to karaoke fame. There also seems to be something in place that will allow you to get a score for accompanying your song with your funky fresh dance moves. This could be amazing if true!
- Guitar Hero World Tour Controller: Rumor has it that the new Guitar Hero guitar will have a "touch-sensitive neck slide". What does that mean? I have no idea but it sure sounds awesome! Also rumored is the inclusion of a roster of various artists including Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Interpol and Muse to name a few.
- Forza Motorsports 3: the new version of the popular racing game is believed to reside on two dics and will feature 400 cars, 100 tracks and unbelievable customization.
- Game Show Channel on Xbox Live: Following the line of TV content on Xbox Live, the Game Show channel will be joining the ranks of South Park, Lost and Ugly Betty. Word is that Reality TV, Puzzles, and Sports will also be offered.
- Powers & Titans Superhero Creator: In this City of Heroes like non-MMO game, players will be able to make their own heroes with their choice of super powers which they can then use to vanquish virtual evil!
- Trioxide: This product is said to allow PC gamers the opportunity to "emulate" the latest and greatest console games on their home PC systems. This one seems especially suspect to me. We'll wait for more details.
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance II: A follow up to the popular Marvel Ultimate Alliance, MUA II will reportedly have a major plot upgrade, following the story of the Civil War series of comics
- New potential Spiderman titles: Information was uncovered about 14 potential new Spiderman games, two of which are said to make much use of the Wii motion controls and balance Board. You can look at the full list of titles and descriptions after the jump
