Spore.com Hits The Ground Running

sporecom.jpg

EA's Maxis Studios launched the site for Spore quite under the radar this past Monday. My guess is that they were saving that announcement for last night's hands-on with the Creature Creator that Pixel Poet, Asterick and I attended. The site is looking great and includes several areas including the "Sporepedia" where all the creatures you create and decide to share with the world will reside. There is also a "Players and Stories" area whjich you will hear about a little later.

Even though the Creature Creator doesn't ship till next week, there are still quite a few creatures on the Sporepedia created by Maxis employees and some by fellow journalists (including your three stalwart GG writers). You'll be hearing all the details of our time with the game last night (which is amazing!) a litle later this afternoon when Pixel Poet brings you his coverage. Until then, you can occupy yourself with checking out the Sporepedia. See if you can find the ones we made!

I can't wait for this game... I love creating things [me and my younger sis were obssessed with Sonic Adventure 2's Chaos].

And that birdy thing in the screen above is one I'd like to try out for starters. XD

I just hope the Wii's version isn't dumbed down too much... Or that the PC version is affordable and runable for a standard computer... Hmm.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
