Tecmo Gags Itagaki: Little Late For That, I'd Say.
Oh Tecmo, how the sh**storm is blowing your way. First Itagaki decided to leave Tecmo for various reasons, which is reasonable. He was a big name before he left, and I'm sure that he didn't feel he was being treated fairly. This resulted in a massive drop in their stock. Now 300 of their employees are suing them for unpaid wages thanks to falsification of documents and all sorts of shenanigans.
It seems like Tecmo is scrambling to save face. Tecmo issued a gag order to Itagaki, probably trying to keep him from talking smack to the press. The conditions are as follows:
- Disclosing or leaking information regarding Tecmo's game software, sales, development or any other company secrets.
- Using newspapers, magazines and the internet to criticize company software and company employees.
- Obstructing the company's business through slanderous remarks to third parties.
- Do not accept interviews regarding Tecmo or talk to the press about the company.
Basically, it looks like he can't so much as mention Tecmo's name to anyone outside of an air-tight sealed room with a double-redundant key lock system. I think there might be soviet launch codes involved too, but I'm not 100% on that one. The funniest part about all this is that I've not seen much smack talk from him at all, it's been from the press (like us!). I personally will be interested to see how this all plays out in the end.

And considering that Tecmo's shareholders are probably going to sue because they filed the report that Itigaki was suing them late, Tecmo's not going to be having happy times for a while. Man, I bet they wish they had Sony's problems last year.
