Video: EVE Online: Empyrean Age
As a self-professed MMO nut (and unabashed Care Bear), it pains me to admit that I haven't given EVE Online the attention it deserves. I've fussed about with it a bit but could never find much gameplay to grab onto and allow myself to be sucked in by - and although I don't suppose I tried very hard, it did get boring quickly.
So it's with a bit of sheepishness that I bring you this trailer for the just-released expansion pack, EVE Online: Empyrean Age. Taking the space opera theme and running with it all the way to the bank, Empyrean age looks to offer more than just mining and shooting. At least, the trailer does. Whether the interesting bits will trickle down to the gameplay remains to be seen.
I think EVE is a terrific idea - certainly not a cookie-cutter MMO, and sci-fi space opera is a wonderful resource for creative ideas. If anyone's tried a hand at the new expansion, let us know what you think!

Reading the comments on game trailers, that is mostly pre rendered stuff. Until Eve gets around to opening and bringing Jove into the game and makes planets something useful, I have other games to play.
EVE is really fun in some respects, but very definitely not solo friendly. The death penalty of losing your ships can be very harsh and you have to be incredibly alert ALL the time when in 0.0 space. It's not for everyone.
