What The Hell Is Going On With Lucasarts?

So if you hadn't heard, last night reports started coming in that Lucasarts has laid off around 100 of their employees. This is a MASSIVE layoff, and would be almost a third of their workforce. Rumor has it that most of these jobs will be outsourced overseas, and that the jobs ranged across the company, from tester to producer.
Lucasarts had a massive round of layoffs in 2003 as well, and then was hiring like crazy to get the level they are at now. So with The Force Unleashed almost done, they've decided to reward their employees this way?
As a result of all this, we're now getting more information on Lucasarts in-development projects. Former employees apparently have revealed the next KOTOR game is being worked on, and indeed will be the long prophesied MMO. Not to mention a Wii Lightsaber game and another LEGO Indiana Jones.
How many of these projects are now in jeopardy because of the layoffs? Too soon to tell. But as someone who recently got laid off (and recovered) I wish all the new job seekers luck in what is becoming an increasingly tough job market in the states.

This post desperately needs an update with all the "leaked info" that supposedly came from anonymous former employees. There's some juicy items in there.
