E3 '08: Double The PSP Star Ocean, Double The Fun!
SquareEnix has released some more information on their upcoming PSP RPG double feature Star Ocean: First Departure and Star Ocean: Second Evolution. These are two separate games, however, with First Departure due to ship October 21 and Second Evolution on January 6, 2009. Technically, these are remakes of the first two Star Ocean games (made for the Super Famicom and PlayStation, respectively), but are enhanced for the PSP with a new game engine, an improved battle system and fully-voiced animated cut scenes. In addition, this will be the first time that the original Star Ocean game will be released in North America. I'm a huge RPG fan, and the PSP is a great platform for them. (And not just because it helps make my endless commute go faster!) So I'm looking forward to these. Especially since they've got a sci-fi setting instead of fantasy. (You can OD on fantasy cliches after a while...)

I was never a big fan of the Star Ocean series, but this seems to be the way that I'll get into it.
Plus I'm glad SOMETHING's being developed for the PSP now:P
I was bored to tears by Til the End of Time on the PS2, but I'd be willing to give these ones a try. Or at least wait and see what the reviews say.
