E3 '08: GT5 For 2010?

GTPrologue.jpg

So, you've got a PS3 and you're passing on snagging the "pay to play demo" Gran Turismo 5: Prologue waiting for the full release, right? Well, put on some jammie pants you're going to be here for awhile. Creator Kazunori Yamauchi announced that GT5 may not hit shelves until as late as 2010. That's right, it might be more than a year off.

Meanwhile, micro-transactions are a-go-go! That's right, prologue is getting expansions. Will they be free? I doubt it, but there has been no word either way. This is all oddly convenient considering that they had originally planned on doing a nickle and dime policy on GT5 before fans went mental on them. It is probably pretty safe to say they are going to milk this cow as long as they can.

But what about Gran Turismo 4: Mobile (PSP) you ask? It's still on it's way... eventually. Yamauchi stated that it is still in active development but a release is not planned until after Gran Turismo 5 is out the door.

On Sony, how I love your "Can do... it later" attitude.

By expansions they probably mean more Specs.

Spec I which was the Japanese only version of GT 5 P had around 37 cars.

Spec II was the version that came out in America and Europe which had over 60 cars.

The Japanese version was then upgraded to Spec II free of charge. So I'm assuming Spec III which is probably gonna inculde the Voice chat and Friends Play which they already promised for later this year will also be free.

This is the absolute truth. I have no doubt that GT5 will be a pretty looking racer, but I wonder if those cool Hooverboards from Back To The Future 2 will come out first.

Um, since comments weren't enabled for Tiny Dancer's previous Bayonetta post, I'll just comment here:P

I may've missed this, but has anyone else commented on what a hot beefstick (former) Clover studios developer Kideki Kamiya is?:)

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
