E3 '08: Rock Band 2 Set List Rocks The House

rb2box.jpg

Here's some great big news from E3 here in LA! Harmonix has released the entire list of songs that will be available on the new Rock Band 2 disc. Normally we are made to wait as the company ekes out seven or eight songs at a time over a few months, but here we have the whole shebang! There are 84 new songs (all the original tracks) including hits by The Go-Go's, AC/DC, Billy Idol, Blondie, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Bang Camero, Panic at the Disco, Talking Heads and the list goes on and on.

You will also be able to export almost all the original RB disc tracks and upgrade them to the Rock Band 2 game so no need for pesky disc swapping! And of course as reported before, all DLC will be backwards compatible. Pretty nifty!

Be sure to make the jump to check out all 84 smokin' tracks!

I'm THRILLED there is finally a Fleetwood Mac song on there. As a huge fan of the band, I've been surprised that some of their other hits like "Rhiannon", "The Chain", "Don't Stop", "Little Lies", and "Gypsy" haven't appeared as DLC. It would really make my day if "Landslide" appeared, but since its only vocals and guitar, I'm pretty sure it probably will never show up.

i think i just peed a little.

Ok, where do I start on how freaking awesome this set list is?!

Devo, Blondie, Dinosuar Jr., Interpol, L7, Sonic Youth, Silversun Pickups, Talking Heads, The Go-Go's...and I could go on and on...

Bikini Kill is the real shocker on this list. I love Kathleen Hanna, so this one is pretty big in my book. Maybe (just maybe) this could be a sign that we might get more gay & lesbian friendly punk/rock groups like Le Tigre and The Gossip as DLC...

I like the variety to this song list.

It feels like Harmonix explored some more options with the DLC for Rock Band, testing the waters to see if people would really want songs from bands like the B-52s, Go-Gos and Blondie. And I guess they noticed that we do want more than hard rock and heavy metal. Thanks!

Oh come on, no Within Temptation? The rock mix of "What have you done?" would be freaking perfect.

Im with kid amnesiac, if Rebel girl (one of my all time favorite songs) is any indication of possibilities to come, I am now so much more excited for it's release. That, and I can't wait to riot grrrl it up, hahaha.
