Good Old Games - Classic PC Games With No DRM
The people of CD Projekt have launched Good Old Games, a new site dedicated to selling older games. From the teaser on the site, (image above), it looks like they've gotten ahold of some good franchises. The site is currently in beta and will be going live in September.
What's more, they are claiming they'll be totally DRM free. You buy it, you own it. Download it again whenever you want. Each game is apparently re-coded (or wrapped in an emulator I would assume) to work perfectly with Vista or XP. Even if this was just a way for people to get access to the first two Fallout games, it would be worth it. Yes, I know Fallout is on Gametap now, but this doesn't have a monthly fee. If they can get me a well-performing, XP-compatible copy of X-Com I will love them forever (again, Gametap, monthly fee, etc...). I'll be watching for this with baited breath in September.

Also, I just wanted to point out. Gametap has gotten the rights to fallout 1 & 2 but they haven't even posted a date they will be releasing them so it will likely be some time before we see them there.
Wow, I hope they actually take off. I'm in same boat as you when it comes to gamefly, I just don't want to pay a monthly fee, I'd rather own it.
First of all: bated breath

It's crazy how 50% of the internets can be wrong... Save your language, people! (not mine, I'm german ^^)
Also: I wonder how much they'll charge per game - I can totally see content providers ruining this service once again (maybe they'll wait for the used game market to collapse though, that'd at least be smart, albeit not wise...). Try using VDMSound with DOS games, definitely helps a lot. Older Windows games run fine in an emulator, if necessary a virtual machine. All for the price of your old discs and free.
