New Mortal Kombat vs DC Screens; New Characters Revealed
Nothing kicks the weekend off right quite like a heaping helping of new screenshots! Midway has releases some new gameplay shots and new character renders for the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Four characters have been revealed including Sonya and Shang Tsung from the MK universe and Catwoman and The Flash from DC. I know many people are reticent to like this game because of that whole "no fatalities on DC characters" business but visually the game looks quite stunning. I'm especially loving Catwoman's look here. The neo 60's purple catsuit and sweet goggles are really doing it for me. Although, I'm still crossing my fingers for the arrival of Wonder Woman...

i'm going to go rant about it
I respect Catwoman as a character...but I don't know the purpose of having a catsuit only to have it unzipped all the way down and having one's tits out (aside from pandering to 15 year old pervy gamer boys). This game LOOKS great, but I couldn't give a toss about the Mortal Kombat characters...
I haven't cared about Mortal Kombat for years I'd much rather just have a DC Heroes/Villians smack down fighting game.
Worst. Crossover. Ever.

Looks like it could be a fun little game, but this whole 'no fatalies on DC characters' still sounds stupid.
You just know that the DC characters will have their own super special moves they will affect all the other characters whereas the MK characters are at a slight disadvantage with their moves only affecting each other...
Whatever agreement lead to this game being made, it looks like MK tradition got hacked abit for it. *sighs*
My understanding was they recanted on the no fatalities thing, thought they were in???
What I heard from the most recent Game Informer, or some other gamer mag (I forget which one it was), was that the storyline behind the crossover is written as such that killing the characters isn't possible, thus the non-inclusion of fatalities. They haven't released what that plot is yet, but I'm hoping it's something ridiculously awesome.

Do the character designers even know what people look like? Or were the figures generated randomly by a computer based on flawed statistical data?
Well it'll make sense at least. Wonder Woman being the only DC hero I can think of who's not adverse to killing.

I love the liberties they're taking with Catwoman! She's freaking fantastic. I could stand for the boobage to be toned down some, but otherwise miss kitty is making me purr. Wish they were taking the same tack with the dudes. Would love to see a more stylish Wonder Woman. As for fatalities, they have no special appeal for me, so don't give a fig at the lack.
Here's hoping the gameplay doesn't suck.
Is it just me or in image #7 does Sonya Blade actually have a thong tan line? If so, that's a whole new level of programmer perverseness.
Hmm I looked at the E3 08 trailer for this and at the end Scorpion was about to use a fatality on The Flash...

So....does anyone out there have the BALLS to mention just how great this game is really going to be? Hmmm, guess not and do you want to know why, well it's simply because all of you post geeks out there arent true fans of the grand franchise of Mortal Kombat or DC Comics for that matter. More than half of you nuts dont even have your facts straight about whats in/out the MK vs. DCU game. Oh, wait a minute, I get it now, you had nothing better to do right? I'm sorry girls but if you dont like the Catwoman's new catsuit because of the open chest area, well, cover up your mesquito bites, go somewhere for awhile, then come back after you've grown a little more confidence. I can't stand girl video game character bashers!

When I heard Midway announced MK vs DC I thought it was a joke. When I knew that it was true and happening I lost all respect for Midway. MK series are unique in some sort and I see no way it could be fused with some crappy batmans and supermen and other super-dupers for 7 year-olds' entertainment. MK has always been brutal, with rage and gore. And now they turned it into ... I can't come up with words rather than bullshit. Being a MK fan, I was offended by this crossover and would never buy any MK games again.
All MK gamers whom I know denied this game at the beginning of its development. Midway received too many rants about it, but who cares who we are? They want batman vs Sub-Zero. Best of luck. And yes... Sonya has a thong tan on pic #7, Boobage of Catwoman - perverted developers. Maybe next MK game will be rated 18+ and will have new naked characters... hehe
