Peggle DS Confirmed - Productivity Worldwide Comes To A Standstill

That right, the day the world will stand still is coming some time before the end of this year. After adamant denials from Popcap. CEO David Roberts announced the development of Peggle for the Nintendo DS. This is probably the single best (and worst) news for causal gaming on the DS I've heard in quite some time.
For the uninformed, Peggle is a simple game where players fire a marble out of a cannon, and just let it hit various objects on the screen. The ultimate goal is for the marble to come in contact with a random number of objects that have been colored orange. That is pretty much the extent of it. Players can earn bonus points, use power ups and various other devices to switch it up a bit.
The game sounds really stupid until you actually sit down and play it. There is a certain amount of skill required to run the effective bounces in your head. It is sort of like playing pool with the table on it's side. The game also has a certain zen quality to it which further draws the player in.
Now, if all that doesn't get you interested (you really have to play the demo), than maybe this will: Q? Entertainment is heading the development. You may remember them from such fantastic titles as: Every Extend Extra, Lumines and Rez. I don't know how they are going to incorporate music into this title, but considering their track record you know it's going to happen.
To all of you gamers out there with non-gamer partners, this is the perfect way to sucker them into your world. Seriously, it is like a gateway drug. Application of this game should not be taken before bed, work or before operating heavy machinery. May cause drowsiness and loss of time.
