Rock Band 2 Joins The Race For The Biggest Drum Kit

Image of Rock Band 2's two drum kits.

For some reason, I was hoping that Harmonix's upcoming Rock Band 2 was going to be bigger than the rat race for the most razor blades. Well, as you can see from the above photos, I stand corrected.

Though the standard drum kit to be sold with Rock Band 2 mimics the original, underneath the surface it features less noisy drum pads and velocity sensors to better gauge your wild flailing. Eventually, when you tire of the meager four panel drums and bass, you can upgrade to three additional cymbals for the full effect.

Don't worry, the entire setup will be sold as a premium kit for your hard earned money. Prices have yet to be announced, but E3 may shed more light on your next costly investment.

I would love to pick up the Ion kit, but $300 is going to be a little too rich for my blood this year.

They have a site up at http://drumrocker.com/ where you can get some more info, see a short video, and pre-order if you are lucky enough to have the funds.

I want to be able to control normal games with the drum.

This sounds mad, until you imagine fighting games as drum battles.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
