Take Ryu Hayabusa Home With You

He's a little bit dangerous and a little bit sexy, and now you can have a Ryu Hayabusa of your very own. First 4 Figures announced today that they have acquired the license from Microsoft and TECMO/Team Ninja to create high-end statues based on the Ninja Gaiden II game.
First up is the game's hero, Ryu Hayabusa, recreated in minute detail, down to the artificial grass of the graveyard of swords he's striding through. He's also equipped with his signature Dragon Sword, Eclipse Scythe and a Falcon's Talon. Ryu himself is 18 inches tall, but with the scythe, he comes in at 31 inches, which is over 2 1/2 feet tall!
The statue will be available in the first quarter of 2009, and will be produced in a limited edition of 1,999 pieces. It'll retail for $349.99, and is available through First 4 Figures' website for ordering now. And if you're the type of collector who wants to have the lower end of the numbers, you're gonna want to jump on that ASAP, because the low numbers are going first come, first served. Oh, and while you're at their site, you can sign up for their newsletter, which will enter you into their raffle for August where you can win $1,000, among other prizes. (It would certainly help defer some of the cost of that statue!)

Me Want!
I realize there's a market out there for it, but I really wish that First 4 would also make figures in the "Still expensive but not crazy expensive" price range. This guy does look good though.
