Video: Resident Evil: Degeneration Handheld Comic Con Trailer
For all you t-virus fans still feeling the sting of Resident Evil's storyline switcheroo, consider this trailer to be a kind of nostalgia methadone. Resident Evil: Degeneration is a CG film set in 2005, seven years after the end of Raccoon City and just a year after the events of Resident Evil 4. We first saw it late last year, but this trailer expands a little on the plot and, more importantly, the Leon. Oh, and Claire's there too, for some reason. How adorable is that wink?
The video is (surprisingly steady) shaky-cam footage from Comic Con, so expect direct feed later. Until then, minus a brief focusing issue and washed out colors, this one isn't too bad. While it's not the same as a new game, we're still getting Resident Evil 5 next year. If you're desperate, maybe you can just hold onto your controller and pretend you're watching a really long cut scene. Metal Gear Solid fans should feel right at home.

So why the unnecessary MGS dis? Rather childish, if you ask me.
The thought of sitting around during a movie, holding a Dual Shock 3 and doing almost nothing for long stretches of time reminded me of playing MGS4. It seems most Metal Gear fans have accepted the idea that the game is full of long and frequent cut scenes. It's not so much a judgment as a fact, exaggerated for effect.
Apologies if you were somehow offended by that.
Ah! Classic RE, just the way I like it.
BTW Am I the only one who wants to see a Leon/Chris team-up?
Why the fuck did they not make this a game!?
I still maintain that, even though Resident Evil 4 was a great game, that the switch from Survival Horror to Action Horror lost quite a few people.
I found it very awkward to aim with a controller and only found the new engine to be very successful when it was ported to the Wii.
While I am excited for Resident Evil 5, I don't think it will live up to the excitement I felt waiting for 2 and 3.
I really want a classic-styled Resident Evil game for the current generation. Even if it was just 2 and 3 remade to current-gen graphics. I thnk I'd wet myself with happiness.
That's awesome. I wish I could have made it to Comic con.
Well... it DOES look better than the real-movies, however, the characters look a bit like plastic to me. And while it is nice to see... errr HEAR they used the voices of the games, claires voice still is a pain in the a** >.
Nice nose job, Claire.
