Video: Teddy Ruxpin 2000 - Wii Judgment Day

I came across this video and I immediately thought back to my childhood and the Teddy Ruxpin talking doll I had growing up. That Teddy Ruxpin actually survived a very smoky gas fire we had in house and as a result of all the soot that lodged in his fur, became a very dark and sad bear; however, he's not nearly as dark and scary as the bear in the video above. As with most animatronic creatures, there always seems to be something not exactly right with the movements they make; however, it's actually pretty neat that they were able to use the Wii Nunchuck controls to do a majority of the facial responses for the animatronic bear head, especially that they used the tilt controls to do the 'yes' and 'no' head movement. Just goes to show what a little bit of engineering and servo motors can get you. I'm just waiting to see what they can do with the Motion Plus controls and a Wiimote.

I'm glad I looked at this thing this morning instead of last night before bed. I'm sure it would have caused nightmares :P
