Weekly XBLA Update - 07/02/08

motley_crue.jpg

Whether you call it Soul Calibur, SoulCalibur, or simply SOULCALIBUR, the game that started it all (and became the highest-rated console fighting game) arrives on XBLA today for 800 MP and all the nostalgia you can muster.

Namco Bandai gives the game a high-def graphical update, leaderboards aplenty, nineteen playable characters and local Versus mode as one of the eight modes of play.

Other new content this week includes DLC for Wits & Wagers with 280 new questions at 320 MP, and for Rock Band, Crüe Fest Pack 01 for 240 MP or 80MP apiece.

The song "Promised Land," however, is free.

What did it start exactly?

Why, I do believe it started the Soul Calibur series.

uhm, no. that honor goes to Soul Edge for the PSX. that'd be the first title in the series. (Calibur just took from kinda generic, to masterpiece.)

I stand corrected! :D
