Wootini's Weekly Wii Fit Update #8

I was very concerned about backsliding during the Fourth of July weekend, but as you can see from the graph above, thankfully I didn't! Of course, I was also expecting my family to notice a little change in my weight since they haven't seen me in months, but nobody said a thing. Oh well. Guess 13 pounds isn't as noticeable as I'd thought. My family is super athletic and outdoorsy (I think I'm adopted), so I'd probably have to show up with huge guns and a six pack to get their attention. Maybe at the family reunion over Labor Day...
Anyway, this was also the first time I had to go a day without Wii Fit. I played Thursday morning, but then had to go without on Friday and Saturday. More details after the jump!
I was very careful with what I ate over the weekend, but luckily, since my family is all healthy, so is the food. So I ate normally and didn't pig out on anything, and limited myself to only a couple of beers a day, and even then, only in the afternoons. Nothing to eat or drink in the evenings. Plus, the weather was nice enough on Friday to go swimming for a while, and I took at least a couple walks each day just to keep moving in some way, shape or form. Unfortunately, Wii Fit isn't terribly portable. Plus, I wouldn't have been able to find anyplace to play it there. The house is quite small, and the TV is usually tuned to the Red Sox game. (Alternated this weekend with Olympic trials)
I've been very careful to make sure the Balance Board is positioned just so ever since one very weird morning where my center of balance was way off to the left. It was the worst it's ever been, and the game immediately went into an exercise to make me stand centered. Just a little mini-test to adjust your weight. I also ended up weighing more than I thought I should have, so I adjusted the board so it was definitely even on my yoga mat, and as level as I could make it. I took the Body Test again and my center of balance was better and I weighed less. Hm. So the lesson here is to make sure that you always have the same conditions under your Balance Board and keep it level! (Early on, I weighed myself on the hardwood floor and it was much different then when on the yoga mat)
Oh, and I've started doing the jackknife challenge because I like to do more than 30 to push myself more. (Still can't do more than 20 push-ups, so that's going to need pushing for a while) But one day, I started to do regular jackknife and decided against it, so quit out of it and went for the challenge instead. But the game wouldn't let me, the trainer insisting he wasn't up for it today. I got frustrated, so quickly tried again, and it totally worked the second time around. So it's not that picky, I guess. Oh, and I gave up around 80, but it took forever before the game finally called it quits. It gave me a ton of chances to start back up again. Kind of annoying, because I wanted to move on to the next exercise. (Although I was surprised to discover that 80 reps still wasn't a full seven stars!)
I'm glad I didn't backslide during my vacation, and I promise to get right back on that Balance Board and keep going until I reach the goal I set for myself! (It's only a couple pounds away!)

Yeah, you have to do 100 reps in the jackknife challenge. I've done it twice now!

Good job man, keep it up!!!
