Blizzard Announces 'Recruit-A-Friend' Bonuses

In an effort to recruit even more people to their already enormous playerbase, Blizzard announced today Recruit-A-Friend Bonuses for World of Warcraft. What is it? Any current WOW player can invite someone to play (via a special tool on the WOW site) for a free demo of the game. If the user decides to upgrade their account and buy two months of play, the referrer gets a special Zhevra mount that can only be gained from referrals.
How can I earn the exclusive in-game mount? For each person you refer who upgrades to a retail version of World of Warcraft and purchases two months of game time, you will be able to give a character on the account you sent the invitation from an exclusive in-game zhevra mount. This unique mount can be claimed through the website, is only available to Recruit-A-Friend participants, and can only be applied to a single character.
That's not all either, each player will get special bonuses during play as well to speed up leveling and get them up to speed with current content.
- Characters on both accounts can summon each other once per hour.
- While adventuring with your linked friend/family member, you will each gain triple experience.
- For every two levels the new player earns, the new player can grant one free level-up to a lower-level character played by the veteran player.
Perfect for leveling up alts quickly and giving friends a way to play together. The bonuses end after 90 days, and there are some limits, but this move is obviously designed to get people in the game and up to speed before the eventual launch of Wrath of the Lich King this fall. I can see this being good for people that want to multibox too. Now is the perfect time to work on alts as well, with the lull before the expansion. If any of our readers have been itching to get into WOW and want to earn these bonuses (and net someone a mount), we do have quite a few forum members who play the game, you could ask there.

Lol, my friend JUST got me playing the other week, of course before this came out.
I wonder how many people will refer themselves into a second account.
i just got a relative to start playing 2 weeks ago! NOOO! i neeed zebra! need! mad phat lootz!!
By gods, how many lives does WoW still demand?! Haven't they drained the will to live offline out of enough people already?
When will this devilry end?!
The average WoW player had no will to live offline anyway.
I wonder if I can refer my friend who only subscribes monthly when we want to play...
