Blizzcon Tickets Are NOT Sold Out (Yet)
Just a quick update to Pixel Poet's story from this morning. Big surprise, Blizzcon ticket sales are still buggy as all get out. In fact, many users are now getting an error screen that tells them tickets are sold out.
They are not. It's just a side effect of the obscene demand for tickets, so keep trying!

It's horrible the way EA err Blizzard is treating its customers.
Tragically, they are actually sold out now.
The entire way that the sales were handled by Blizzard was a catastrophe. The problem of the site going up and down was only compounded by the frustration resulting from the behavior that adding tickets to your shopping card didn't actually reserve them; and as if that weren't enough, a lot of us suffered from the bug that the site would suddenly lose state and restart the sale, resulting in infinite loops of accepting the terms of purchase repeatedly until someone bought "your" ticket. Unless you got lucky, of course.
Anyway, Blizzard's tendency toward prior restraint on issues involving the "g" word manifested itself again on the BlizzCon forums today, where they deleted a 7-page long (when I last checked it) thread that seemed to be working toward getting a gay meetup at the con. It was only about 40% "die fags die" posts, too, so there was a surprising amount of useful information and worthwhile conversation. The way they tend to censor our community in order to "protect" us is always incredibly frustrating.
