Burnout Paradise Has Legs... I Mean Wheels

I'm going to come clean and admit to the world that I am not a fan of racing games. No matter how well I think I'm doing, my car/cart/horse/emu always seems to go at half the speed of my competitors. For some reason I picked up Burnout Paradise back in February and have found myself drawn back to the game over and over again. Maybe it's the relaxed gameplay, the open world structure, or the very pretty car crashes. Whatever the reason, my dedication to the game keeps being rewarded by Criterion who releases rather large updates to the game for free.
The upcoming update looks to put another huge smile on the face of Burnout players. Posting on the Playstation Blog, Criterion Games Producer Jeremy Chubb writes:
We want to completely change the game we brought you back in January with regular game changing updates. That means more than just a couple of cars and a new level. For the first time in a Burnout game, we're bringing you motorcycles. We've already talked about the 2 bikes available from Day 1 and some of the bike-specific gameplay that's on the way, but there's more to this pack than that. We're introducing night time to the streets of Paradise City and with it, some unique gameplay.
That is some insane loyalty to fans. How many other seven month old games are still drawing players back with brand new content? If you haven't picked up Burnout yet, the price has dropped to under thirty bucks and all the extra content makes this the best deal in racing games. What are you waiting for? Here, I'll even link you to our store to check it out.
Day and Night Gameplay for Burnout Paradise [Playstation Blog]

I have to say I'm pretty astounded at the amount of support Criterion has been giving to this game. Burnout Paradise was already a fantastic game with a ton of value, and they just keep adding more stuff for free. In the age where it's easy to feel nickel and dimed by paying for every outfit, music track, theme, and (koff koff) online service, it's pretty refreshing to see a company work tirelessly to make a good-quality game much, much better, and for free. Oh and they dropped the price of the game by $30.
Anyone not picking this puppy up is a fool. There I've said it.
