Buy Eternity's Child On Steam Right Now

PC gamers: Luc Bernard's platforming adventure game Eternity's Child is up on Steam right now. The current price is $4.49, which looks to be about 10% off the regular price of $4.99.
We've been following the game for some time due to its unique style and gay-inclusive plot. Seeing it pop up like this is a bit of a surprise, as we'd mostly been focused on the WiiWare version of the game, which doesn't yet have a release date.
This Steam version of the game looks pretty definitive, in case you were wondering which one to buy. According to the description, if you download the game via Steam, you'll get exclusive levels, a level editor, high definition visuals, and Steam Achievements, none of which look like they'll show up on the Wii. Additionally, the description promises free levels and chapters available later, which might be the "exclusive levels" mentioned earlier or may be something else entirely.
Hopefully we'll hear more later, and get some details about these levels. I hate to say it, but unless you really wanted to play this on your TV set, it sounds like WiiWare is getting the short end of the stick here.
Eternity's Child on Steam [Steam]

Either Luc or his business partner mentioned on their blog that the price covers all future episodes, because "Games cost too much". It's really nice of them.
Crapping all over people planning on getting it as Wiiware, a little less nice.
I don't use Steam and I don't care too.
So appearantly that means I should get an inferior version of the game.
What happened? Did the guys from Steam 'invest' in Luc to get a better version?
i read this game was really bad
Just finished reading the review over on Destructoid. Man, those guys really didn't like it much at all!
Unless a demo shows up, perhaps it'll be best to wait for more opinions to surface. As progressive and artistic the game might sound, I doubt it's worth buying if it plays like crap.
Its four freaking dollars I rarely play non fps games on my pc but I'm going to download this just to give it a shot.
Again..
it's four flipping dollars that's less than it costs to rent a console game :p
Destructoid rushed the review to get it out of the way and played it on a controller, which is having some problems right now. Really, they aren't very professional.
Forgive the double, but I didn't mention how it played. It's a fun little platformer, with gorgeous art and wonderful music. It's certainly worth $5.00
I just bought it and played the first couple levels. There are a lot of things going for it, including an interesting multi-task mechanic in which you use the keyboard to run and jump while using the mouse to do things such as control the rapid-fire projectiles of your flying companion and collect floating pickups; it challenges how you're used to thinking about platformers, in a good way. Unfortunately, the control is very strange, the camera is awfully stupid (goes up way too high when you jump; pushes forward while you're running but then jarringly whips back when you stop; etc.), and there are some glitches (I've already fallen straight through a platform to my death) and poor design choices that keep making me feel like I'm taking damage through no fault of my own (HOLY CRAP GIANT ROBO-SHARK), or easily passing obstacles that look like they were supposed to be harder. But there's enough enticing about the game--the beautiful story/art, the gameplay when it's challenging in a good way--that I'll probably play through it. And any game with a level editor gets a free ride to awesome, since fans will untoubtedly create some amazing levels.
I think the keyboard controls are not player friendly. That is the only thing bad going for it, I am going to try it with a controller before I make any further opinion.
I never heard of this game before, but after looking into this story and the game itself it looks really interesting. Seeing how cheap it is, I'm picking it up right now. At the very least the artistic value looks great. I see there's some complaints about the keyboard controls, but my custom arcade stick from Arcade-In-A-Box just shipped the other day, so I'll have a quality controller to try it out on. I'll be sure to post what I think of it all.
Too much run/jump/die, the flying heart enemies hang around when dead and still flap so you can't tell whether they're still dangerous half the time, and the 'avoid reset to start of the level when you die' flags are too far apart. It looks nice (too visually noisy though, the detail hides insta-death spots) but it was horrible to play.
Alright, I've gotten some good play time in, and I really don't get what all the hate is about. The physics aren't bad, they're just different. It took a few minutes to get used to them, but once I did, I had no problems. The game reminds me very much of Rayman, gameplay and physics wise, and I had the same problem with that game at first as well. I also really like the keyboard/mouse controls, I think they work great. Overall I think people just forget that the game is only $5 and expect way too much out of it.
You'll find Punch that a lot of the people panning the game have actually not played it, and are just annoyed Wii owners, annoyed the PC gets a definitive version.
You know, the same people who were posting mocking when Mass Effect was announced for PC after been a 360 exclusive.
Also, the game is fun to play, and intuitive, and pretty.
