UPDATED: Fallout 3 Official Launch Date
Well, this is a depressing way to start off a day. I just got the following e-mail from Amazon not moments ago.
We have received new release date information related to your pre-ordered video game in the order you placed. The release date for the video game listed below has been changed by the publisher, and we want to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:"Fallout 3 Collector's Edition [DVD-ROM]" [DVD-ROM]
Release date: 10/24/2008
Estimated arrival date: 11/05/2008 - 11/12/2008
The original release was October 7th, so it's pushed back about a month. Sad. But if the game ships that much better, I think I can deal with it.
UPDATE: It would appear the the October 7th release date was merely an Amazon.com estimate, and Bethesda has just announced the official release is October 28th. Someone at Amazon must have gotten their press release early and jumped the gun a bit. I still feel saddened as I was under the impression I would be getting it sooner, but now we have official confirmation and I doubt it will change again.
