Final Fantasy XIII Demo On The Way, Mobile Games Coming To PSP
At their big Japanese event this weekend, Square Enix announced that the Blu Ray Advent Children Complete, due at the end of March 2009, will include a demo for Final Fantasy XIII. Could this hint at a release timeline for the game itself? The company has been reluctant to pin down a date but at least now we know not to expect it before then. So far this only applies to the Japanese version of the disk, although they'd be pretty much crazy to not include this for North American gamers as well, at least if they expect us to re-buy the shinier version of their Final Fantasy VII movie.
It's also unknown whether a similar demo will come to Xbox 360 owners, who can't play Blu Rays on their machine. As FFXIII remains a PS3 exclusive in Japan, we'll have to wait and see if they answer that question anytime soon.
The company also announced that their previously phone-only games Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Parasite Eve spinoff The 3rd Birthday are coming to PSP. Agito XIII is part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series with its big console brothers FFXIII and FF Versus XIII. Birthday continues the adventures of Parasite Eve protagonist Aya Brea, but the gameplay is said to be very different from previous titles in the series. Neither game has a release date, although Birthday is confirmed for 2009.

Why not get these mobile games on handhelds? There's just no good reason.

I really hope we get the Demo. As bad as XII sucked, I'm really on the ledge with this one. I just don't know if it's worth my money, and it's being kept (like most FF titles) in such secretsy. I really jut want 5 minutes of gameplay to se if it's worthy of being a FF title, or if it's just another f***ed up piece of cr*p like XII was.
