PSP Redesign Has The Looks, Talks The Talk

Well, last week Asterick showed us a patent filing for the PSP 3001. This week, however, Sony has been kind enough to give us the lowdown on two new bundles revolving around the new redesigned PSP 3000 model. The new model, while retaining the slim PSP form factor, will also tote a new LCD screen which has "a wider color gamut and anti-reflection technology" along with a built-in microphone. The microphone is there for both multi-player gaming and VoIP (Skype) usage.

To roll out the new model, Sony has put together two bundles to help them rake in the profits get the new model out to deserving fans. The first of which will be The Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack rolling out on October 14 for $199.99.This bundle includes:

  • Updated Mystic Silver PSP system

  • Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters

  • "National Treasure 2: Book Of Secrets" UMD(R) video

  • echochrome(TM) PLAYSTATION Network voucher

  • 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo

A month later, in November, Sony will also roll out what they are dubbing The PSP 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack which includes:

  • Updated Piano Black PSP system

  • 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo

  • Everyday Shooter PLAYSTATION Network voucher

Both of the bundles look nice for anyone wanting to get their hands on the new resign for the better screen or to take advantage of the new mic. Sony has also promised that the new model will be available in a standalone 'Core Pack' before the end of the year for a $169.99 price tag.

Gotta love Sony "can't get it right the first two times" redesigns.

What a ripoff. I swear they do it to piss off people that spent a fortune on their first generation PSP.

Fony more like.

DAMN YOU SONY!!!

I just got my PSP slim last month, and now you reveal a "better" version...

You assholes...

Whatever happened to one system per console cycle?

Can't any of these damn companies get it right the first time?

OMG!!! I had to go buy the dorky headset with the mic! And now its a standard feature, Unbelievable!

(I'm probably gonna buy it!! LOL) As much as I want to be mad at Sony for the delay of "Home" and bringing out this new psp, I still loves me some SONY :) PS3 RULES!

The only thing that could make me spend more money in a new PSP would be another analog "stick" in that damn machine. Sony these days got a terrible syndrome of "we-are-to-awesome-and-people-will-buy-and-agree-with- everything-we´ll-make" ... they just ruined it all for the ps3 with all the NO backward compatibility...you can talk about 80gb,or 60gb ps3 but it´s as hard to find than a virgin(thanks god we don´t have to sacrifice virgins anymore)... and by the way, people that bought ps2 games all theses years DESERVE BC!a friend of mine who bought a modded ps2 laughed in my face looking to my 50 something ps2 games...
