Videos: New Resident Evil 5 Trailer And Co-op Gameplay
Resident Evil 5 will be shambling it's way to consoles soon with all new co-op play action. Above we have the brand spanking new trailer taken from the Games Conference in Liepzig. After the jump we get to see how you and a partner can work together to stop the zombie infection. Judging from what I saw at E3, Resident Evil 5 could well eclipse RE4 as the standout title in the series. The addition of optional co-op play will only serve to make the experience that much richer. Nothing says friendship like decapitating zombies with a few well placed headshots.

Co-op looks pretty sweet! I love the RE games to death (no pun intended). I'm kinda confused though, is the co-op going to be 2 player? Or like in RE 0 where you controlled both characters.
*sigh* These new trailers haven't really shown anything we haven't seen from E3. My excitement for this is waning...

The player will control Chris by default, and I think another player can control Sheva (the girl) over online play. If there isn't a second player, Sheva will be computer-controlled. However, in past RE games we've always been able to control the "other character" for at least a short bit of time, so there's always room for maybe.
eek!!! The enemies have been stupified again!!! I guess we were slightly spoilt with Resi 4 Wii's AI that were slightly faster.
I wish this game had local co-op as well. I like actually prefer being with my friends in person much better than online.
dammit! it's going to be like outbreak all over again lol and no voice chat to conversation stats. I'll still buy it but that always drove me crazy when you could communicate in detail to your "helper".
