Backlogged: What Are You Waiting To Play?

Summer's just about over here, and for me, Fall isn't just colored leaves and cardigan sweaters. It also means stacks and stacks of new games (as long as my wallet holds out), more than I can ever hope to finish in a timely matter. With that in mind I have to give some serious thought to clearing off my shelves and finally finishing some of the games that have settled into my backlog.
Top of the list is probably Grand Theft Auto 4, which actually shouldn't take that much, and I can tell the story is winding down. The last few times I've popped it in I've spent time going on man-dates with the various other characters, trying to get them to like me more than 90%, and I have to admit it's sucked some of the fun out of the game. You can really only watch so many lap dances before it starts to feel routine. Next up will probably be Metal Gear Solid 4, which was coming along nicely when my PS3 suddenly took an impromptu summer vacation to Sony's repair center. Since I got it back and working, I've tried to work up the motivation to remember exactly what was going on in the story, and sadly, less plot dense games have usually won a spot in my disc drives.
I also have to decide if I can commit the time to getting through Persona 3: FES before Persona 4 comes out this winter. I wasn't exactly happy with my progress in the first Persona 3, so I want to start over with FES. It's months away, but squeezing 70+ hours before December 9th might be tricky.
Is there anything in your own backlog that you'd like to clear before the holiday rush, or are you able to let go better than me?

I feel like I need to hurry up and finish Gears of War before 2 is out - not so much so I can know the story - but so I can have a better grip on the controls which I seem to forget every time I put it down for a month.
I can forsee a big back log coming...October looks dreadfully painful on the wallet...
Just now finished getting 240 stars in Super Mario Galaxy, so I hear there are two more, and then I'll be done with that game. I also want to go through Rock Band 1 world tour all the way and get all the "Big In" Achievements that are reasonable.
I'm not in a huge rush, but I also could finish the old Metroid Prime 2, so eventually and finally I can play 3.
Then maybe finish my third Mass Effect playthough so I can finally see the lesbian relationship play out it's 10 seconds of glorious humping.
I have quite the backlog. Culdcept Saga, Dragon Quest Swords, Metal Gear Solid (the first one still), No More Heroes, Digital Devil Saga, Final Fantasy XII, Grandia 3, Persona 3, and Silent Hill 2. Plus I still want to do another run though games like Mass Effect, Too Human, Eternal Darkness, Tales of the Abyss, and replay Tales of Symphonia before the sequel comes out.
Metal Gear Solid 4... is way back... til I finish 1, 2, and 3. Hehe.
I don't think I'll ever get to Mario 64 or Final Fantasy VII at this point. :(
I picked up The World Ends With You just before GTA4 hit, so I need to get back to that. I rented the Simpsons game and got distracted by Spore and a replay of Bully.
I've still barely gotten anywhere in Phantom Hourglass. Not even due to that accursed Temple of the Ocean King--I just plain can't stand the controls! I know everyone praised the daylights out of them, but I've found them pretty buggy and unworkable so far, and that's even with realigning my DS's touch screen. Not to mention how awkward using items is. I just want to press the buttons! It'd be so much quicker!
It's a shame, because Linebeck's become one of my favorite video game sidekicks, and I'd love to play the game just for him--but between my hatred of the controls and my current addiction to Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise, I just can't do it--!
It's Log! Log!
It's big, it's heavy, it's wood!
It's Log! Log!
It's better than bad, it's good!
Oddly enough I use http://www.backloggery.com
to keep track of my backlog. At the start of 2007 I was just over 200 unfinished games. I'm under 10 now.
I'm in the middle of Lost Odyssey, so it'll be a while before I start up a new game... On my waiting list are Drake's Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank on the PS3, then whatever else is on my Gamefly queue. :)
I need to finish Lost Odyssey. I've been wanting to play Mass Effect and Too Human.
thats actually a cool site, wolverinefactor - thanks!
And I keep forgetting that I totally bought Oblivion and I've played it twice. That's definitely in the backlog.
Also on the Lost Odyssey train, so need to finish before I can enjoy Tales of Vesperia and Infinite Undiscovery, not to mention the soon to be released The Last Remnant and Fallout 3.
It's a good time to be a RPG-loving 360 owner.
waiting for Gears of War 2, Dead space and Tomb Raider Underworld.
I liked Gears more then Halo so i can't wait for the sequel
