BioShock For PS3 Goes Gold, Demo This Thursday
Digital Extremes has put the finishing touches on the PS3 version of BioShock, and ye olde master disc has gone to the printer in time to bring BioShock to a PS3 near you by October 21 (although the international release ships a few days earlier, on October 17).
New content for the PS3 includes "Survivor" difficulty mode for all you badasses, trophy support as well as entirely new add-on DLC game content that will appear "shortly after launch," with pricing and availability to be announced soonish.
Having won over 50 different Game of the Year awards, it's no surprise to see 2K bringing its baby to the PS3, and the inclusion of the additional content is a great way to get yourself back to Rapture. While I'm not sure I can play through the game for a third time (or that my boyfriend will let me), I'll definitely be downloading the demo when it goes live this Thursday. Even if it's just to compare graphics and see how many splicers it takes to bring me down in Survivor mode.

Consumer demo available for download from PlayStation®Network starting October 2
2K Games announced today that BioShock® for PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system has gone gold and will be available at retailers across North America on October 21 and internationally on October 17. Additionally, PLAYSTATION 3 system owners will be able to experience their first foray into Rapture with the release of the playable demo, available for free download from the PlayStation®Network starting Thursday, October 2.
Developed by 2K Marin, 2K Boston, 2K Australia and Digital Extremes, BioShock for the PLAYSTATION 3 system contains all-new content that augments and extends the experience in exciting ways. BioShock for the PLAYSTATION 3 system contains new features such as the inclusion of the Survivor difficulty mode, Trophy support and the addition of all-new Add-On Game Content that will be available for download shortly after launch. Pricing and availability for Add-On Game Content will be specified at a later date.
BioShock is a narrative-driven action experience that allows players to do the impossible as they journey through an amazing, immersive and terrifying world.
