Disaster: Day Of Crisis Is A Light Gun Game With Waggle?

Yes, according to Siliconera, who have translated the Japanese website in order to divine clues to the relatively mysterious but soon to be released (in Europe at least) survival game.
Disaster: Day of Crisis' combat segments feel like a light gun game with a cover system. To fire your gun you point with the remote and pull the trigger with the B button. Don't break out the Wii Zapper yet. While Disaster: Day of Crisis has arcade style shooting it has events that wouldn't work right if the remote/nunchuck were encased in a plastic shell.
Now, it's worth noting that no one at Siliconera has played the game, so they could be way off. Looking at the different media from the game, though, their information appears to be pretty spot on. In between the shooting events, you'll use the Wii Remote to perform CPR, rescue survivors, push a bus, and outrun a tidal wave, or something. The set of tasks you have to perform look pretty varied and interesting, although it probably won't sate those of you who wanted a survival adventure title, like an update of the old PS2 game Disaster Report.
We'll know for sure soon enough, as the game has been dated for October 24 in Europe and should see release in other territories soon as well. After the break, check out a pair of videos. The first, a demonstration of gameplay, lends credence to the whole "light gun plus" theory, while the second gives us a look at the game's cut-scenes.
