EA Casts Impedimentia On Harry Potter Till 2009

With the next Harry Potter film delayed until 2009, it's no surprise to hear that EA has tabled its accompanying game - both game and film will be released on the same day in summer of 2009. The game was originally slated for November 2008.
The delay will substantially impact EA, so much so that EA's fiscal forecast lowered expected revenue from $5.16 billion to a mere $5.05 billion: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will, after all, be released on Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PS3, PS2, PSP, PC, Mac and mobile devices. That's quite a cross-section, innit? What, no room for a version that runs on my microwave oven? It's a fancy oven.
I got the chance to test out the game the last time EA came to NYC, and the part that I played - the dueling class pictured here - was genuinely fun, with good wand controls and none of the hideousness that was the Order of the Phoenix game.

Hope they use the extra time to hone those hideous character models...
I played through the OotP-game (got it free from my boyfriend, who in turn got it free from EA as compliments for testing it out in a HP-fansite meeting), and it was truly a horrendous gaming experience both visually and gameplay-wise.
Okay, I admit I loved the modelling of Hogwarts, but that was pretty much it.
Good for them, the game would've pretty much bombed if they'd released it now [with the general public / impusle buyers, at least].
They may have to wait till summer [kudos to WB...] but EA will get their tidy sum! The game looks awesome, though I haven't seen any actual game footage yet. XD
