Fallout 3 Helps Us Prepare For The Future

Bethesda has announced the launch of the complete version of their new Fallout 3 viral site, Prepare for the Future. Via the site, you can hunker down in front of the good old Radiation King and watch any of the 9 channels of instructional short films and animation. You can use channel 5's G.O.A.T. (Generalized Occupational Aptitude Test) to pick your future career (Pip Boy Programmer, here), and channel 2 demonstrates the Pip Boy 3000 menu navigation system. Don't expect a lot of specific game information, as the developers want the plot to remain a pretty well guarded secret. Mostly the channels just set up the title's world and tone, and if the game maintains the feel of the website, it should be quite an experience.
So what's your computer-selected vocation? Don't be disappointed if you aren't selected for your first choice: remember the future needs all types. Barring any huge disaster, Fallout 3 is due out Oct. 28 for North American PCs, PS3s, and Xbox 360s, and later that week for Europe.
