Interplay Escapes Near Death Again, Returns For More

decent.jpg

For some people like myself, just thinking of the name Interplay conjures mixed emotions. Sure, there are visions of the beautiful landscapes in Out of This World, twisting through space in Decent, and wondering the vast wastelands of the original Fallout games. But at the same time there are horrific flashes of Clayfighter 63 1/3 and Y2K: The Game. The publisher has seen its fair shares of highs and (most recently) lows, but it seems that some of those dark days may be behind them. With the launch of their new website, Interplay has restated it's commitment to developing a new installment of Earthworm Jim and announced the return of the designer from the original Fallout game, Chris Taylor, joining fellow Fallout vet Jason Anderson on something called Project V13, rumored to be a Fallout MMO. Legendary Wars: T-Rex Rumble for DS also gets a little blerb, slated to be "coming soon."

The site also boasts some of their other brands such as Decent, Earthworm Jim, and Freespace. As exciting as yet another PC MMO sounds (sarcasm alert!), I'm really excited to see the next Earthworm Jim and praying for another MDK regardless of their platform. Hopefully we'll hear more in the weeks the come. In the meantime, check out the revamp of their new site off of the press.

I loved MDK2, I have it for the Dreamcast. Unfortunately I didn't play the first one, I really wanted to but I never had the chance. It's been on my to get list, but always gets pushed aside for newer games. Another series on my "I hope it gets a sequel" list.

Bill: 5.99 on Good Old Games and it's yours! The game ages fairly well. Still very fun, even if the graphics are more than a little hurting by today's standards.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
