Mercenaries 2 Demo On XBL, PSN Soon
Good news for you cautious types: if the botched publicity stunts and annoying jingle haven't sent you running to the stores to nab Mercenaries 2: World in Flames these last few weeks, you can soon download a demo of the game from Xbox Live and PSN.
I saw the game being played at PAX a few weeks ago and it looked like fun, although not my usual cup of high grade explosives. I tend to run hot and cold with sandbox games, especially when they have too much box and not enough sand, but with its completely destructible environments and focus on blowing up whatever you see, I think I could find at least a demo's worth of enjoyment from the game whenever they put it online. If you actually bought the game and have strong feelings one way or another, feel free to enlighten us in the comments. The Xbox Live version should be available soon; the PSN one will be up next week.
(Update: Although earlier claims had the demo up on XBL now, it's not available in the marketplace yet. In case you read an earlier version of this post, the text above has been changed to reflect that.)
