Metallica's New Album Hits Stores... And Guitar Hero!

Oh, sure, bands release albums on CD and for download all the time. But we're not talking iTunes here, we're talking Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. That's right, this Friday, September 12, Metallica's new album Death Magnetic will hit stores, and at the same time, be available as downloadable content for Guitar Hero III. And as an extra, the downloadable album will feature two exclusive GH versions of "Suicide & Redemption" with extended solos by James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett.
"We've been working very closely with Metallica and we're extremely excited to offer Death Magnetic not only in its entirety, but also with the exclusive recordings of 'Suicide & Redemption' as downloadable content to Guitar Hero fans," said Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs for Activision Blizzard. "We're proud to be setting a new precedent for our two industries, making an entire new album available in two different mediums simultaneously."
Death Magnetic will be available from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 for 1440 Microsoft Points, which equals $17.99, the price you'll also pay to download the album on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3. Oh, and Activision would like to let you know that you shouldn't worry about buying the album for GH III with Guitar Hero World Tour right around the corner the download will be forward compatible with the new game when it comes out in October! Score!
Now, I just wonder if the album's any good...

I...honestly think I'm going to buy the cd in game.
