More Info on Sega's DS RPG: 7th Dragon

Asterick teased us with the news that SEGA was going to be developing an RPG for the Nintendo DS, and his cautious optimism. Well, the new Famitsu magazine has some more details about the game, including a title: 7th Dragon. The game is due out in Spring 2009, and they're apparently working furiously to meet that deadline. There's a website that's going to go live at 7:00PM on September 26, but we've got some info already.
As Asterick said, Skies of Arcadia and Phantasy Star's Reiko Kodama is producing 7th Dragon, and the director is Kazuya Niinou, who created Trauma Center and Etrian Odyssey while at Atlus. And I guess I earned my own geek credits when I got a little excited that Shenmue composer Yuzo Koshiro is doing the tuneage for the game. There are some additional details, like there will be four characters in your party at a time, the goal is to kill all the dragons, there are seven classes (Rogue, Mage, Fighter, Princess, Knight, Samurai, and Healer) with four appearances each. There are skill trees for each class, and the top screen will be a top-down map view while the bottom screen is a "conquest map" whatever that means.
It says that it has "Command-based battle encounters," but I'm really hoping that it's not too much of a strategy RPG. I'm not so good at those, and I'm really interested in this because of the pedigree. Well, when the site goes live, we'll get some more info... even if it will probably all be in Japanese!
