New Releases For The Week Of 09/29/08

Silent Hill makes its debut on the next(now)-gen consoles this week with the release of Silent Hill Homecoming on PS3 and 360. Hopefully you've been following our twice-weekly features on the series and are all set for this chilling new installment. Developed by the same guys and gals behind the Buffy games we're cautiously optimistic about this one. As long as protagonist Alex Shepard doesn't learn he's from a long line of demon killers we'll be five-by-five.
Sonic and the gang find themselves venturing into RPG territory with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood on the DS. Early buzz on the game has been positive and with Mass Effect publisher BioWare at the helm the blue speedster may actually be racing back to the top. No word yet on if he gets involved with a human girl. That was so very very wrong.
Wii owners who yearn for the simpler times can pick up Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility this week. Like the past games you'll live your life as a farmer using your skills to bring up livestock and growing plants. This time around however, you're working towards reviving the town's sacred tree. Gamers looking to play beyond the main story will have the option of restarting the game as their child, meaning the cycle can continue forever. I've tried Harvest Mood games in the past and found them to be an enjoyable and relaxing diversion. Perhaps I'll check this one out.
