PAX 2008: GayGamer Meetup
Along with PAX happening out in Seattle this last weekend, thanks to our lovely Gamer Meet Ups Forum the folks out in Seattle planned a rockin' meet up for everyone in and visiting the area this last Saturday night. It started out with everyone meeting up at the Six Arms for some appetizers and drinks. I have to admit that the Apple Breeze drinks were a personal highlight of the evening for me. Unfortunately the place was a little packed due to all the people from PAX grabbing dinner there and the service was definitely lacking, so it was hard for us to find enough tables together to get everyone that showed up into a central location. Also, our own Fruit Brute was on a PAX panel that evening at 7:30, so many of the folks from the meet up left at 7 to go see the panel. Turns out that despite being in the largest meeting room available (easily able to hold a thousand people) the Sex in Videogames: Japan versus U.S. panel drew in a crowd so large that a ton of people in line, including many a gaygamer, got turned away due to fire code regulations.
That didn't stop the GayGamers though, since we had already planned to meet up at a local gay bar, The Elite, after the panel let out and quickly took over the second floor nook with our large numbers. The drinks were strong, the laughter was boisterous, and pictures were fabulous fierce. In fact, at some point someone grabbed my camera and started snapping pictures I didn't even know were taken (thanks to whomever did that for me). A big thanks to everyone that came out, and special thanks to Squeech for taking pictures with his cool camera and AladinSane for cluing us into the awesome bar that is The Elite.
Oh, I forgot to mention, our soon-to-be-announced new writer is amongst the crowd, can you guess who it is? Well you'll be finding out soon.

Last weekend was awesome!!! Why can't PAX happen every weekend?
LOL, Oh Pixel try to keep track of your things :) I learned that the hard way. Never leave your camera laying around. Especially at the table I'm sitting at ;) Your camera is hard to use btw :P
It was a Blast, I'm still giggling. Can't wait for PAX 2009. We'll have to plan the East Coast PAX once they announce it :D
Why are they doing it in Boston?? Is New York City closed that weekend?? :-(

I missed PAX for Bumbershoot (so in other words, I chose music over games) last weekend but I am glad to hear everybody had a good time here in Seattle.
I promise to go next year so I can finally meet everybody from GG.net...
I was at PAX and sorry I missed meeting you all. My friend and I attended the CCP party but next year I hope to meet other gay gamers. See you next year.
