Two Princes Of Persia Land In December

Well it looks like Ubisoft is seeing a big dollar sign in each one of the Prince Of Persia franchise's eyes this coming holiday season. This all due to the press release they sent out today announcing the December 2nd release date of both their next-gen Prince of Persia game and their DS Prince of Persia: The Fallen King game. The next-gen game will be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and features a lot of the game play mechanics you've come to expect from the Prince of Persia series, along with a new cell-shaded art style and the powerful partner moves of the beautiful Elika. At the same time, Ubisoft will be releasing a new DS tailored Prince of Persia game, with a completely different storyline and game mechanics. Of course both games will be out in time to capture their share of the holiday market, so make sure you decide which version you are putting on your list to Santa Claus, we all know you'll be flustered enough once you get to sit in his lap. Full Press Release after the jump.

from the Corruption once and for all.

As I was reading your post today, it really bothered me, where it never was a problem before, that you used the term next-gen to refer to the console version of this game. I think my aversion to the term now stems from the impending logical dilemma with this term being used for current gen hardware. If the PS3 and Xbox 360 are considered next-gen and the Xbox and GC are completely last-gen, what is the current gen? Also, one must consider non-videogame journalists who could possibly use this as source material for their own reporting and their unfamiliarity with the subject coupled with the inherent confusion embedded in the term could cause problems in the future. Anyway. I didn't mean for this to be a nasty post or anything, but my point is that I think it might be time for some superior videogame journalism sites, such as gaygamer, to officially stop referring to home consoles as "the next-gen" and just use "consoles."
Vitriol - It's funny, I was just about to bring up the exact same point. The Xbox 360 is coming up on its third year since release, and the Wii and PS3 have been available for almost two years. I hardly consider that "next-gen."
