Video: Japanese Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon Trailer

I simply must own all things Digital Devil Summoner. It calls to me. As such, any time Atlus releases any title related to the series I am obligated to spam you all about it. It's a side effect of my rabid fanboyism. Continuing with this theme, I have included a recently released video trailer for Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon. You will all watch it. Love it. Live it. Included at the end of this trailer is a teaser for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Maniax Chronicle Edition, which was announced for Japan. US release please?

To those uninformed in the series, Digital Devil Series includes includes:

  • Digital Devil Story

  • Shin Megami Tensei

  • Devil Summoner

  • Persona

  • Digital Devil Saga

There are also an additional handful of gaiden titles, but for all thoughts and purposes those are the core games. I demand any fan of role playing titles purchase any and all games in those 5 major core stories. Note that many are only available in Japan. Play them anyway.

I thought they all fell under the Shin Megami Tensei name (rather than Digital Devil series).
Anyway, I'm a big fan of all of them as well.
I love the whole horror RPG setting thing (which is also why I so love the Koudelka/Shadow Hearts series).
I recently learned that someone is going to release a translation patch for Persona 2: Innocent Sin and I can't wait to get it. I still need to find an actual copy of the game though and I don't have a clue about how to apply a patch to a PS disc or if my PS2 that is chipped to play all regions will play it, but if I can get my hands on a great game like Persona which has an actual optional gay couple I'll be extatic.

It's really a matter of preference. The Digital Devil series came first (1987 for the NES), the Shin Megami Tensei series came 5 years later.

As far as the patch for the PS game... chances are they will release an injector. You can't use a regular ISO tool thanks the the MDEC\XA system of using an entire sector on the CD system rather than just the data appropriate section (2048 bytes).

But I'll still need an actual version of the game, right?
Neither Amazon or Play-Asia has it in stock. Amazon Japan won't sent it oversees and I don't want to get into Ebay and their Paypal crap.
