Video: LittleBigPlanet "SackBoy Documentary"
I have a confession to make. I am in love with SackBoy. Not the naughty kind of love mind you, but the kind of unconditional love reserved for fluffy kitties and cute puppies. I just want to squeeze him until his stuffing pops out he's so damned cute.
The launch of LittleBigPlanet is a little over a month away and Sackboy is poised to be standing on the top of the heap of the holiday releases. This little trailer is cleverly disguised as a documentary and show Sackboy in his natural habitat. Not only is it a smart way and funny way to present the game, but it shows you just how far you'll be able to take LittleBigPlanet if you've got the design skills. Not into designing? Well don't worry, you'll be able to leech of of everyone else's creativity by downloading their levels and playing them. Free, never ending game content. What else could you ask for?

Looks great! Just how I like my games, wacky and weird.
Having seen LittleBigPlanet being played at PAX, I'm completely unconvinced by any of the hype surrounding it.
This is the ONE and ONLY game that makes me interested in a PS3. I love wacky and cute games (Chibi Robo is one of my all-time favorites). Again, though, I'm not so sure about the content. I just have *zero* interest in designing levels. For many that's fun--to me it's a chore. I want content handed to me :) While we can download other's creations, that sounds like a chore too--I mean, realistically how many user-created levels are REALLY going to have the quality level of design that a game designer can create?
So, I'll sit on the fence for this one and be jealous for a while :)
Brer Dan
Brer, the best part about user generated levels in LBP is that they will be rated (ie youtube videos) So the crappy ones will have low ratings and the great levels will be rated high. This makes it easy to find fantastic levels
