Weekly XBLA Update - 09/17/08

Hey Microsoft, remember when you were really at least one really awesome-tastic game each week? What happened to that? This week us XBLA fans have to settle for Domino Master for a whopping 800 points (I checked online, you can buy actual dominoes for under two dollars) or Feeding Frenzy 2, the sequel to a game that received mildly positive reviews. Any Ticket to Ride fans in the house? If so, you get to choo choo chose whether or not you want to download some DLC for 400 points. I'm really all about the corny jokes this week. I was down on the PSN releases last week and now XBLA will receive my head shake of disappointment.
Luckily Xbox Originals is celebrating "Exclamation Point" week with the release of Destroy All Humans! and Intellivision Lives! (both 1200 points) Throw in Moulin Rouge! and you've got yourself a really excited-sounding night ahead of you. Seriously though Destroy All Humans! is a pretty decent game, but for roughly a third of what you'd spend downloading it you can pick up a used copy. I know downloading is all about convenience, but these are tight times and I'm looking out for ya.
Finally for you Rock Band fans out there who have caused the sequel to be sold out at every story in my area thereby preventing me from trying to convince myself that having money in my savings is overrated the following Megadeath songs have been released:
Wake Up Dead
The Conjuring
Devil's Island
Good Mourning / Black Friday
Bad Omen
I Ain't Superstitious
My Last Words
The album will be available for 880 points or 160 points per track. Also on tap for a special price of 80 points per song or 320 points for the 4-pack are the following (hey, I actually know these songs!):
"One of Those Nights" by the Cab
"Hands Down" by Dashboard Confessional
"She's a Handsome Woman" by Panic! At the Disco
"Natural Disaster" by Plain White T's
While the original games are a bit of a letdown, we do have a few rays of sunshine this week.

It's about time Rock Band got some Dashboard Confessional.
