All Star Cheer Squad Gets Easy, Breezy, Beautiful

THQ announced today that they've teamed up with CoverGirl of all people for a promotional tie in with the recently-released All Star Cheer Squad for the Wii and the DS version due out next month. I guess it makes more sense than CoverGirl promoting the new WWF game...
"The game All Star Cheer Squad was designed with the growing number of girls on Wii and Nintendo DS in mind," said Jim Huntley, director of global brand management, THQ. "We strived to deliver an authentic cheer experience for those players and believe this partnership with CoverGirl is a unique opportunity to do just that. The CoverGirl brand and its spokespeople are instantly recognizable among our target demographic and will further immerse players in the competitive cheerleading world."
The arrangement includes CoverGirl-branded stage logos, banners and billboards as well as additional areas in the game. Players can also select CoverGirl-branded uniforms, and apparel in the "Create a Cheerleader" mode. And most obviously, you can use CoverGirl makeup on your customized creation. I can't believe I'm writing about a cosmetics company promoting in a videogame, but then again, Nintendo has spread the fun of videogames out into a whole new audience! I wonder if CoverGirl is also working with the developers of the America's Next Top Model game...

Ah, jeez. Now I'm DOUBLY embarrassed to buy this game. Thanks a lot, CoverGirl.

Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst have identified Procter & Gamble as the 52nd-largest corporate producer of air pollution in the United States, with roughly 350,000 pounds of toxic chemicals released annually into the air.[17] Major pollutants indicated by the study include manganese compounds, sulfuric acid, epichlorohydrin, and bromine.
P&G conducts research using animals to demonstrate safety or efficiency of their raw materials and products.[22] This has led to a worldwide campaign to raise public awareness and to stop P&G being involved in animal testing. The campaign is led by Uncaged Campaigns in the UK and Stop Animal Exploitation Now in the USA.
