Complete Game Makeover: Classics Evolved

B&A.jpg

Ahhh, those games of yesteryear, they'll always hold a warm space in our hearts, even if the franchise has been bastardized to beyond recognition at times (I'm looking at you, Sonic). The truth is that many of the games from our youth (those of us not in that stage anymore) are still around today in some number sequel or another. How recognizable are the modern versions of your favorite games? Well, it seems GameDaily wanted to see just that as they made an image gallery of nine different game franchises and screenshots from their original game and then compared those to a screenshot of the latest iteration of that game. For the most part, what I saw was everything going from side-scrolling games with 2D graphics to free roaming games with 3D rich graphics (notable exceptions of Doom, Star Fox, and Resident Evil). Many of these games have come a long way, and yet a lot of the gameplay still is pretty much the same as when it started, just more 'features'; nevertheless, it was great to see just what has changed visually to these classics. Hit the link to take a nine-time trippy time warp of these classic games.

This is really cool - thanks for posting! And how did I miss that Chris Redfield was going to be so HOT in RE5? I'm going to have to go replay my RE1 GC remake now.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
