Far Cry 2 Comes "Home"

Ubisoft announced today that it is launching the official Far Cry 2 space in PlayStation Home's closed beta in North America and Europe. This is the first third-party game environment in PlayStation Home, but since the service hasn't actually launched yet, I'm not sure it's really that big of a deal. Still, it's good to be first, right?
"We're absolutely thrilled to collaborate with PlayStation on this ground-breaking endeavor and have Far Cry 2 be the first third-party video game to have an official space in PlayStation Home," said Tony Key, senior vice president of marketing and sales, Ubisoft, U.S. "Far Cry 2's open world setting offers players a level of immersion that very few video games can match, and bringing that robust and dynamic environment to PlayStation Home will allow players to further engage themselves in the game's gritty African setting in fun and interactive ways."
Actually it sounds kind of cool, and Home is one of the few things on the PlayStation 3 that makes me want one. (Just another couple to go and I'll be suckered in!) For you lucky beta testers of Home, you'll be able to avail yourself of some nifty interactive entertainment. There's an information area with information to explore about Far Cry 2's missions and NPC's, as well as other elements of the game. There's a Mancala mini-game that uses bullets as game pieces, and the opportunity to explore in-game environments, like a bombed-out train station that has been turned into a café. That's the kind of thing that could be a lot of fun, exploring game worlds without the whole game getting in the way. I know it would definitely help you get the lay of the land before playing through the level again!
Oh yeah, and Far Cry 2 ships out to stores next week, on October 21. Of course, you'll have to wait for Home to launch officially before you non-beta testers can take advantage of this nifty extra!

The FC2 space is a big nothing, as is the Uncharted space. It's about three rooms. The only "information" I found was a map and a portfolio with a couple paragraphs on each of maybe a dozen characters. Certainly nothing that makes me interested in buying the game. I don't see how this is supposed to be "fun", its hardly even "interesting".
The only real entertainment was watching other avatars who were exploiting some bugs to walk atop fences and dance on the train station's roof.
I've gotta say, so far Home has been quite disappointing. If there were actually something to DO there, it could be interesting, but as it stands its just walking around a handful of boring, mostly-empty buildings. Even the mini-games in the arcade are boring.
